Stop! Don't Eat That Frog!

Updated: Jan 31, 2023

Offer it to someone else instead.

In his book Eat That Frog!: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time, Brian Tracy recommends that you focus on your most challenging tasks first thing in the morning. The title of the book originates from an old saying that is usually attributed to Mark Twain: "Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day."

This is great advice but what if you really can't stomach that frog or have a plateful of the things?

Well, why not offer the plate to someone who has a taste for frogs? They may look unpalatable to you but many others will find them appetising - after all whilst few people eat them in the UK "les cuisses de grenouilles" (frogs legs) are a delicacy in France!

So go ahead and give those tasks you loathe to someone who enjoys them. And give me a shout if I can take some off your plate - just no real frogs, please! 😂
