Classic blue background. At the top is "A-Z" using chunky letters in cashmere blue, above the words "of me” in Playpen Sans. At the bottom is a photo of me, a blonde Caucasian woman, next to the words “Sarah Haler
#VirtualAdminAngel
Halo Virtual Assistance
www.halo.london”. The graphic is suggestive of preschool/kindergarten or Sesame Street.

This A-Z of me will give you a little insight into me and the way I work, and is a production of the Halo Virtual Assistance workshop. 😉

A is for Angel, as in Virtual Admin Angel - even though I'm not really all that angelic! 😉

B

B is for Bee - as in I have professional indemnity and cyber security insurance with PolicyBee and am such a busy little bee! 🤣 If you’re interested in getting such insurance yourself, check PolicyBee out using my referral link, and, if you do sign up, we’ll both get £20 (after your policy has been active for a month).

C

C is for Completionist, which is what my children call me concerning my video-gaming style. I take it as a compliment - after all, completionists don't give up easily and are determined to get things done! 🤣

D

D is for Data entry, as I’m one of those weirdos who enjoys data entry and data clean-up!🤣

E

E is for “Eye for detail” - as in a former boss said my eye for detail is impressive! 🙂

F

F is for Flexibility, as those I work with always appreciate my willingness to be as flexible as I can (at fifty, it is definitely not for flexibility of the body! 🤣).

G

G is for Grinder, which is another word my children use for me concerning my video-gaming style, but I see this as a great strength that makes later gameplay easier. It’s also partly what makes me so good at admin! 😉

H

H is for Human, as in I'm a real human, unlike Google Assistant, Alexa or Siri.😉I may work remotely and only see those I work with on a video conferencing call, but I am real, honest!

I

I is for Independent as I am an independent VA - a freelancer who works directly with clients without the involvement of an intermediary agency.

J

J is for Juggler, as I have gotten really good at juggling roles and projects (but balls not so much! 🤣).

K

K is for Keen, as I am enthusiastic in my work.

L

L is for Loyal, which might surprise you. Some people worry that a Virtual Assistant would not be as committed as a traditional employee since they are independent and may have many clients, but I am always dedicated to those I work with and see myself as a partner in their success.

M

M is for Meticulous -  need I say more? 😉

N

N is for Neat, as I like things to be neat and organised  - not that you'd guess if you saw the state of my handwriting! 😉

O

O is for Organised or “organised and reliable” as one of my testimonials says!😉

P

P is for Progress - as a recovering perfectionist, I try to live by the mantra "Progress, not Perfection". And I am always working on honing my skills and learning new things.

Q

Q is for Questions, as I ask a lot of them! I like to double-check things and not make assumptions (insert inevitable joke about the word “assume” here!🤣).

R

R is for Relentless, as I am relentless with my reminders about outstanding tasks! 😉

S

S is for Steadfast, which is not the most exciting of words, but does describe me well! I wanted to write “star” because some people pay me that compliment, but I thought that would be too boastful!😉

T

T is for Testimonials, which I always feel a lot of trepidation about asking for. Recently, I gathered some after putting off the requests for ages because I felt so awkward, but you know what? Those I asked were happy to write them for me.

U

U is for Understanding, as I will listen to your concerns to determine the kind of support you need, adjusting to your changing needs and priorities as situations evolve. And, if you're working for a church or small charity, you can be sure that I will understand the challenges you face, having worked in these environments for years.

V

V is for Versatile. I have worked in offices in a variety of industries, starting with my temping days at The Environment Agency, and including diverse roles such as sales and marketing for an upmarket Italian furniture brand, a PA position with a leading Italian beer company, and various administrative roles with churches and charities. These have given me a wealth of experience and allowed me to learn how to use many tools and resources. I am also a keen advocate of lifelong learning and like to embrace new and more effective ways of working.

W

W is for Wix, the Marmite of website builders. 🤣 Many VAs hate Wix, preferring WordPress for its SEO capabilities, but I think a Wix website is a great option for churches and small charities on a limited budget, where volunteers are responsible for updates and maintenance. Of course, the best platform for you will depend on your specific needs, but if you want a Wix website set up for you, let’s talk.

X

X is for Xenacious, which means “filled with a yearning for change and growth”. I love learning new things, finding more effective ways to work, and creating efficient processes. But most of all, I help create change by taking on routine admin tasks so others can devote time to work that will contribute to their charity's growth (or even enjoy some well-deserved time off).

Y

Y is for Yarely, an adverb that means quickly, readily, or willingly and reflects how I generally carry out my work. And, yes, I do know that I’m really scraping the bottom of the barrel here!😉

Z

Z is for Zero, as in Inbox Zero. My inbox isn't strictly empty, though. My version of Inbox Zero uses Gmail's multiple inboxes, organised according to the principles of Getting Things Done by David Allen. The name puts people off as they think they need to check different email addresses, but they aren’t really separate inboxes. I think of them more as sections in an in-tray (but better as you can close them!). If you want to know how to set up a system like mine, take a look at my LinkedIn post about it.

And there you have it, a little glimpse into who I am and how I work. You can find out more about me here, read my testimonials and why you should choose me here, and see the tools and resources I use here.
